This jersey fabric made from a material mix of 50% TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers and 50% European linen has a loose and flowing drape. It has a slightly grainy, firmer feel. The fabric is opaque and not too thin. Best suited for garments such as shirts, blouses, light jackets and dresses.
- We recommend washing the fabric once before processing, as fabrics made of natural fibers can shrink during the first wash. (Shrinkage value: approx. 5% in length and width).
- Before washing you should neaten the open edges to avoid fraying.
Sustainability and certification
TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers are currently among the most sustainable fibers in the textile sector. Lenzing was the first fiber producer worldwide to be awarded the EU Ecolabel for its environmentally friendly fiber production.Renewable raw material:TENCEL™ brand lyocell fibers are made from cellulose, a building block of the renewable raw material wood. According to Lenzing, the wood for TENCEL™ Lyocell comes primarily from sustainably and legally managed forests.
The fiber is a regenerated cellulose fiber: natural, renewable raw materials are processed industrially. Resource consumption:For the entire production process of TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers, attention is paid to the conservation and circular reuse of water and significantly less water is required than for the production of cotton fibers or man-made fibers.Compostable and biodegradable:Fabrics made from TENCEL™ Lyocell- without spandex!- are biodegradable.
Linen fibers of European origin: the linen fibers come from European cultivation (from France, Belgium, Netherlands).
Ecological production/ certification of the fiber: The linen fiber is certified according to the European Flax® Standard. This includes e.g. the purely mechanical extraction and softening of the fibers without chemicals, a respectful handling of the resources of nature(e.g. water), as well as the renunciation of genetically manipulated organisms.
Certification of the fabric: The fabric is certified according to OekoTexStandard 100 (product class 2).
